The Contenders Family Ministry at HBC is geared for parents who have children at home. We want to provide a ministry that offers encouragement for strong marriages, help and resources as we raise Godly children, and activities that are fun for the whole family.
This ministry is built on the idea that church is not just something you do, but is a community that endeavors to help one another thrive spiritually. We provide many opportunities to enjoy time together, whether it be serious Bible study or fun fellowship times.
Sunday School @ 10:00 am
The Contenders Sunday School is a time of fellowship, games, and Bible studies that have a direct impact on our own lives as parents, as well as biblical advice to navigate teaching biblical principles to our children.
Family Ministry Events
There are several events that our families participate in during the year. They are a great time for building friendships and long term memories.
We have events such as

- Family Movie Nights (October)
- Bowling Activity (November)
- Family Christmas Shopping Trips (December)
- Other activities like: Family Camps, Escape rooms, service projects, mini-golf, and much more!
Family Ministry Retreats
Each fall we go to Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in Clear Lake, IA. It is a fantastic weekend on a scenic lake with several other families from around the state of Iowa.
