            As I ponder women in the church, my thoughts are filled with women who had great influence on me, growing up as a Christian. Oh, yes I know that of late, I quote this theologian or author and that they are often men, but as I do a quick count of all my years in church, there were far more women that trained me up than men. 

            I don’t recall being rocked in the church’s nursery or coloring Bible pictures in the toddler class but since I know that my parents took me to church from the time I was born, I’m sure that there were faithful ladies in the church who served God in those areas, so that my young parents could attend.

            But I do remember all my Sunday School teachers. There was Agnes Merida, Opal Hutts, Marge Sciscoe, Betty Garrison & others, who every Sunday morning had a Bible lesson prepared, and sometimes I felt like it was just for me. And it was in those early years of my life, that God’s Word softened my heart, made me aware of my need for Him, and taught...

       There are many things to consider about Easter. Both Christian and even those of other faiths know the heart of the Easter account. For those that need a reminder, the belief is that after Jesus of Nazareth, who lived some 2,000 years ago and claimed to be the Son of God, was crucified and buried, and that He rose from the dead three days later. And that according to the testimony of the apostles and other disciples, Jesus rose from the grave on the Sunday morning following the Jewish Passover. And according to the Christian Scriptures, Jesus spent around 40 days more on earth, teaching his disciples before ascending into heaven, promising to return one day.

       But other than a celebratory holiday for Christians, when even the busiest of believers seem to take time to attend an Easter church service, what does the resurrection of Christ practically do for those that believe the Biblical account.
